Merry Christmas to Our Friends and Family!

Another year gone by and so fast too.  As I read last year's letter, it seems not that much has changed, just another year older and a few new aches and pains.  But both Geri and I are healthy and are enjoying this time in our lives.  Having the kids and their families close by is very helpful as well as keeping busy with lots of projects.

Geri and I continue to work with the Allegro Foundation, a non-profit that teaches kids with disabilities, both physical and mental.  Their highlight this year was to perform before the Panthers / Redskins game last October.  I was not allowed to videotape it however but the staff did manage to get some still pictures.  The Allegro kids also performed for the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics in Bojangles Coliseum (formally the Old Coliseum).  They performed to a song called "America" a friend of mine Marie Calabro wrote and we recorded in my  studio.  It was great to hear it play in that huge room with all the kids performing and singing along.

We are also still active at the local YMCA but don't get there as regularly as we should.  It seems like something always gets scheduled during our "Y time".

We had the whole clan there this year for Thanksgiving.  It has been a while since we have done that.  We had all the traditional stuff like turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, ham, cranberries etc. etc. etc. Geri has not lost her touch, it was great!

We have not done much traveling this year either except I went on a sailing trip in Tampa Bay and out into the Gulf last June.  A friend of mine has a 28 foot Catalina sailboat berthed in St. Petersburg.  We took a 4 day trip out of there that turned out to be rather exciting but lots of fun too.  We weathered a really bad storm, thankfully while docked and had another mishap or two as well but came back better sailors than when we left..  You can read all about it here:  St. Pete Sailing Trip

Our grandsons, Sean and Daniel started at a new school this year.  They go to Union Academy near Monroe, NC which is a NC charter school.  Sean is in the third grade and Daniel is in first grade there.  They have a monthly Character Kid award and Sean won the "Responsibility Award" a few weeks ago.  A video of the awards ceremony is HERE.  A couple of weeks later, GB & ME got to play for the first through third grades at the school.  I think the kids had almost as much fun as we did.

Hard to believe but Gregory, Chris & Carrie's son is already a very busy four.  He is one to never stop moving unless sleeping and has a very intense curiosity.   I am working on a video of his birthday party at the park but it is not ready yet.  I'll post it soon.
I have done a few recording sessions this year for my songwriter friends.   Besides "America" linked above we just completed a song with Michael Everitt, my band buddy, that he wrote for his second granddaughter.  She lives near Key West so the song has a Caribbean flavor.  You can hear it HERE.

Our band, GB & ME also managed to negotiate our own show at the Sylvia Theater in York, SC last June.  We invited some of our friends to join us on stage as well.  The crowd was mostly friends and family but a few locals dropped in too.  We had a great time and of course, you know I have some it it posted on the web.  You can find several clips from that night HERE.

Well, that's about it for another year.  Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas, a great holiday season and  a happy and healthy new year.

Cheers…….
